The Christmas spirit has faded. *pouts* It's not my fault I'm dealing with some major indigestion that is sucking all the life out of my holiday energy. The cards from <lj user="taelyn_sass"> <lj user="slashbycaranfin"> <lj user="nverland"> and <lj user="liriel1810"> really helped put me a little closer to the goal. Thank you. They were all wonderfully bright and gay and look great on the door.

I got half of my cards mailed out yesterday and hope to have the others going out today. Decorating comes next - office first then home.

Sorry for the lateness but things will get there. *hugs patient flist*

*cuddles and loves* Hubby and I aren't feeling it this year either. We're shopping for family and friends (still have to finish) but we're not exchanging with each other or decorating at all. We plan to go all out next year to make up for it! *g*

Don't forget what Father Guido Sarducci said about "big christmas" and "little christmas!"

We decided to go easy on the gifts. One for each person from each of us. With Rachel in a new place and new job and neither child having tons of money and us wanting spending money for Hawaii we just did the minimum. I find myself wanting to buy more but then stop and say "you have everything. you don't need anything more." and after a few but, but, but's I calm down and go back to work.

I hope you're feeling better soon and get some of the Christmas spirit back. *springles some*

I still have to write a lot of cards myself. Didn't get the Christmas stuff from the attic yet, but I'm entertaining dinner guests this year so I will have to, even if it's only a little.. *g*

maybe once you start things will look more festive.

still haven't gotten the decorations out but I'm making progress. The cards are sent, most of the shopping is done and my daughter's present has been sent.

Those are the most important things to do, I think.
I decorated some, but not overly much.
I figure candles can make up for that... Christmas is about love and light, right?

It's just not going to be the same if I don't get that tree up. It's like its not finished until the tree is done. I put up the snow village across the top of the entertainment center and it looks pretty but...it's not enough.
Dec. 18th, 2011 09:56 pm (UTC)
I understand that...
There's no way I can get myself a real tree and I hate a fake one (it's just not the same) so I compromised (not that you should do the same). I have a small fake tree and the one I made and teeny tiny tree I got (barely 5 inches high *g*)so that will have to do for me.

I hope you get the tree up hun, if that's what you want you should do it. Makes for n accomplished Christmas.
*sends energy and some coffee/tea/wine/liquor... pick which ever would help! *g*
Good luck sweetie!

I don't know what I'm getting all bent out of shape about. There were many Christmas' when we would put up and decorate the tree on Christmas Eve. Maybe It's because we are going away right after the new year and there will be no one home to appreciate it.

Maybe a little rum in the old egg nog would help.

Thank you.

True... I'd focus on the new year... *g*

Rum always helps! Ask CAptain Jack... *g*

Yes, thinks of white sands and palm trees. Wait, I live in Florida. There's palm trees outside my window. Hmmmmm Thinks of pineapples and volcanoes and beautiful waterfalls. That's better.

Where's all the rum gone? Need to get to the liquor store. *writes it on the shopping list*

Cheers darling!
That's the spirit! *g*

I've been too busy to think about holiday spirit so far, but on the plus side, being this busy has also helped keep my usual levels of Grinchiness fairly low. I did tell my favorite shoe seller how much i appreciated him not having the christmas music on yet while i was shopping. It's nice to walk into at least one place without hearing the same three songs over and over.

lol sounds like the local radio station. I swear they have a playlist of only a dozen songs.

I know how you feel. I'm holding onto it with a slim thread, and that's mostly because I'm baking for Ian to send to Kuwait.

Sounds like a wonderful project.

I'm getting there slowly. The decorating at home is still not done but the cards are all out and my daughter's present to sent so I'm making progress.
