Please don't read behind the cut. I'm going to quietly break down now and I don't want to ruin anyone Christmas.

I'm going to cry now. I figured it would happen eventually. Everything was going pretty well if a bit slow but it was going. The gifts bought, the cards sent and received, the food is bought and the pie is even made already. Then disaster struck. I went to take the tree out of the box. Our house is too small for a real tree so we have a fake one which is okay. Last year I bought a new one because our old one was getting a bit tattered. The tree doesn't have the feet. They weren't in the box. I have no way to put it up and I got rid of all the old stands. I have no tree, no kids in the house, my daughter is in Maine, the cats are in Maine and I don't know what to do. I'm so pathetic. Crying over a stupid tree.

I'm so sorry, bon. Even if it's a fake tree, can't you put it in a bucket with sand or something else to support? Maybe you can put up the guirlandes in front of the window?

I hope you can think of something. *hugs*

Whoa. You have no idea, i very nearly had the same crisis yesterday - we actually had the tree up last week but didn't get the lights and ribbon on till yesterday morning. I was moving it back toward the window and decided i'd better tighten up the screws on the base while i was at it. I guess i overtightened one and next thing i knew the tree wouldn't stand straight at all. It was leaning quite heavily. My back was aching, my shoulder was aching, i was tired and annoyed and getting seriously cranky. I about had a proper freak out. And i did end up getting a new tree yesterday. More on that later....

Christmas is stressful at any time, but I know missing your daughter is the root and everything else is just straws on the camel's back. Glad hubby came to the rescue and that you're feeling better now.

I read your later post first so I know it all worked out.
Having a good cry usually helps hun. Just don't make it a new tradition.. :)

Merry Christmas sweetie!
