New roof update

The first went well though I saw them pulling wood off of sections that had never shown a leak. It looked pretty weathered which made me wonder how bad the leaking parts were. We came home in the afternoon after setting up for the county fair. Boy, was that a mistake. Sitting inside a house that has guys crawling all over the roof of and hammering and nailing at several places at the same time is very noisy and a bit nerve wracking. I kept expecting someone to fall through. We did get a new hole in the ceiling in our kitchen that we didn't have before. I guess it was ready to come down and all the hammering helped it along. Thank you to who ever told me to take down the pictures and stuff. That would have been a disaster. It rained last night and it leaked into the addition on the house. That has always been the worse spot and they didn't work on the part much. Oh well, after today we should be dry again. I'm glad I'm going to work today. It will be a relief from the noise. Keeping good thoughts - new roof, no leaks, no wet carpet, no funny smells. Yes, that's better.

I hope it'll be dry and warm when you get home tonight.

Don't know where my icon went... LJ is being difficult again today.

Warm, yes. Don't know about dry. I stopped home at noon to drop off something and the roofers were nowhere in sight. It didn't look like they came today unless because of the rain last night they were waiting for it to dry. I guess we shall see. *crosses fingers*

I'm keeping those good thoughts alive even with the absence of the roofers today.

Yes, it will. It already looks better with all the weathered and rotten edging replaced with new stuff. Can't wait to get it painted like the rest of the house.

I'm glad they're making progress, but yeah, probably best not to be home when they're making so much racket. *g*

I'm sure it will be lovely when it's all done and all the mess is cleared up... and you don't have any more drips coming from the ceiling!
