The Fourth Day of Christmas

ornaments2

That would be the Christmas ornaments. I look all year for new ones, collecting them from new places I travel to and checking out Christmas stuff as soon as it arrives in the stores. I like the glass ones best and could fill a whole tree with just those but I have to make sure that my "travels" ornaments make an appearance too. I added a couple from Washington, D.C. this year and hope to add Denver and Seattle next year.

I try to decorate my trees (yes there are more than one - for I'm crazy and stuck with the German tradition of Christmas, one of the few things I like when it comes to Germany).
So this year I have a glass/silver/gold tree and a sparkling red/brown one and an arts&crafts one I call it, for it has the pappmaché baubles and cardboard santas on and all the other things like angels made of earthware and stuff.
Need to make photographs of this years trees. Another tradition of mine. *chuckles*

I'd love having more than one tree but there isn't any space for more than a table-top one. That doesn't keep me from collecting ornament though. I just choose a different set every year. I'm going to need another storage box this year for the new ones.

We used to do that, collect a new ornament or two a year. Kids want to put them up on the tree in the new house, can't find the box with them in it. No idea what happened to them all

Can't find them? Are there any boxes that didn't get unpacked when you moved?

I'm thinking they're in the very back of the large rented storage unit somewhere.

I know about those. We have one storage unit and a shed. Who knows what's them them anymore. It might be the place to look if you had the time to do it.

Yes, they are. If they weren't we wouldn't collect them would we?

Ooh, yes! I love to collect Christmas ornaments. I have ornaments my parents had for their first Christmas as a married couple, and ornaments I've bought on my travels (England, Texas, California) and some sort of silly ones... Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, the Partridge Family bus (it plays the theme song *g*), the Grinch... oh, and I made my own Jack Sparrow and Will Turner decorations. *g*

It's really nice to have decorations from places you've visited because you remember the trip every time you decorate your Christmas tree.

Exactly, I have them from different places in Florida and then from Utah, Georgia, Tennessee, Washington, D.C., Texas, Maine, Hawaii and Louisiana. This coming year I'll add Colorado and Washington state to the collection. Each are memories from the places I've been since I started working seven years ago.
