Denver Trip (Day 3) Part 2

There were a couple of things I wanted to do or see while I was in Denver besides beautiful gardens and fun workshops. I wanted to see a couple of places, one of them was the Red Rock Ampitheater. I didn't really care who was playing just so I got a chance to see the place. Well, my dreams came true. A couple of girls at the conference had tickets for a Blue Grass Concert and wanted to know if anyone else wanted to join them. They were hoping to fill a shuttle bus instead of paying for the whole thing on their own. Several of us were very willing to help out. We ended up seeing Railroad Earth and Galactic. I knew nothing about the bands before I went but they were both high energy and very entertaining. We had some rain, thunder and lightening at the beginning but about a half-hour into it the rain petered away and it was a great night. The rain ponchos and coats came off and we danced and cheered the night away. Well, I tried but eventually I needed to sit down and just listen. Oh, to be young and limber and be able to dance and stand for hours at a time. I posted a couple of shot before and during the concert and yes, that's me in my "I got rained on at Red Rock" poncho. The last one is not mine but I included it so ya'll could see what the amphitheater looks like without the crowd.

Very impressive! I understand why you wanted to go!

Good thing it stopped raining though, things are always more enjoyable without it.
*hugs*

You know we were really bothered by the little drizzle but I was just as happy that it stopped. It turned into a beautiful night.

It looks absolutely spectacular and I'd never heard of it despite having family living in Boulder!

It looks like you had a great trip and the flowers in the earlier posts were lovely. I tried to post then but lj seems to be acting the goat again...

I am so sorry the goat is acting up. I'm glad you finally got through though.

I think I'd heard of the amphitheater before but didn't realize that it was near Denver. I happen to see a ticket sale for a Barry Manilow concert and did some research on it before my trip. His concert was the night before and was cancelled due to the storms.
