Look what I saw today!

I was over at a local horse ranch talking with the owner when this family of Egyptian Geese walked by. They have gotten more and more common here in Florida. This pair has nine babies and they were hard to keep track of especially while driving in and out of the driveway. The babies kept running back and forth across the pavement. The amusing thing was the tall goose walking with the family. The parents are the smaller ducks (in comparison). The female goose has attached herself to the family as a permanent aunt or babysitter. The parents don't seem bother by her presence.

Nine little ones? Oh my, that's quite a lot!
We see more and more of them here in the Netherlands as well.

I like them, although the males can make quite a racket when they're interested in a female. :)

I love the spots the babies have at this age.

You have them there to? They are getting around. They appeared here less than ten years ago.

Yes, the chicks are cute.

They showed up about twenty years ago.
We call them nile geese, but I'm not sure that's the right name for them.
