Scary drive to work

It was horrible. It was raining and blowing really hard this morning. I could feel the wind pushing at the car. There was warnings of tornadoes in the area and one actually touched down north of us. At one point I strongly debated pulling off the freeway and waiting it out because it was hard to gauge the distance between me and the car in front of me. What amazes me is the people who drive in that stuff with no lights on. *shakes head* It's like they are just asking for someone to hit them. Finally got out of it before getting to my office but I saw a lot of people pulled over under bridges trying to wait it out. I don't blame them. We made it safely and now the skies are blue with just some filmy clouds. What a difference. I hope it stays this way.

Yeah, it's like they are waiting to get hit. I don't understand it and it makes everyone around them more nervous just because they can't flip a damn switch or turn a knob.

Sounds really scary!
I've often wondered why they don't make the lights of a car go on the moment you start. We always drive with the lights on. Makes you more noticeble on the road.

The newer cars have automatic lights but not the older ones.

A scary experience. We were in such a torrent of rain once we couldn't see more than a few yards, we were driving really slow, like a lot of other drivers, yet some were driving past at a speed that was unbelievable.

The rain was so bad that the tail lights on the cars in front of us had this extra ring of color around them making it difficult to figure out how close they were. I was glad that we were sitting still through part of it. Yes, I'm always stupefied at the high rate of speed some people travel in heavy rain. It's like, "Are you driving in the same weather I am?"

People driving in rain without lights *grumbles*. It's a law in TN and STILL people refuse to turn them on! Which makes them liable should they get in or cause an accident. Glad you got there safely!

It's the law here too but that doesn't seem to phase some people. They just don't care.
