Conference/Vacation Part 3

It turns out that the spa (or more specifically the pools) were my favorite part of the hotel. We stayed at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa for the conference. It was a excellent choice. It seems that I only took pictures of the pool area but it was worth it - beautiful. I'll post one wall painting from the indoor pool and put everything else under the cut for further reading.

The interior of the indoor pool was decorated with scenes from Greece. They were beautiful and because the spa was celebrating their 90th birthday that day the artist was there for the party. I found this out after swimming around in the pool with him for about 20 minutes. He told me about some of the places the wall murals represented.

The lap pool was just on the other side of a glass wall. I tried to do my typical 10 laps but for the life of me I couldn't swim straight. There seemed to be some kind of current though I don't know how. The indoor pool didn't have the same effect so I ended up spending more time inside than outside. There were also a couple of hot tubs inside too.

The fountain out front was not as impressive during the day as it was lite by blue lights but still quite nice as is the view of the entrance to the shopping district of town (across the street from the spa/hotel. I included the sign about the history of the spa and the natural springs the place is built on.

The pool area looks very peaceful, a nice place to unload.
Love the paintings!

The fountain looks totally different in daytime; still lovely though.

The pool was lovely. I could have stayed for hours. I felt like was inside some Greek temple with the beautiful painted scenery and the pillars. It was quiet and peaceful with usually no more than two other people in the water. I don't imagine the outdoor pool was that relaxing.

That's almost like having a pool of your own... Lovely!
