The storm has passed for us. We are hoping it doesn't make that loop around (that's predicted) and try to come at us again. We missed the brunt of the storm because of our distance from the eye. We just got some minor wind and rain. The banana trees stayed up (one old one came down) so that is proof that we didn't get much. Even the brush pile out at the street didn't move. Tomorrow we get to open the house back up, lifting the awnings and maybe taking down the window covers. Might leave some of them until we hear what the storm is going to do before removing everything.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Keep those in the upper part of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in your continued thoughts. Hurricane Matt isn't done yet.

Relieved to know the storm didn't damage your area that much.

I wouldn't take down any of those protections yet...I believe in Murphy's Law through my experiences. Stay prepared.

I was thinking the same thing. Some of those panels were a bear to get up. We plan to keep them there for another week or so. We put up the living room awning so we have light inside but the others can stay.
