Goals for 2018

This year was really something special (way too short) but definitely special. I didn't get everything done on the goals list but some things did get accomplished so not as much of a failure as I thought.

Goals for 2017:
-Maintain weight: (one month at a time) - I did pretty well until July when my conferences and traveling started. I ended the year at 177 which seems bad but I also decided that 160 was not a realistic weight for me and I'm going to try to stay (get back to and then stay at 170) Note: I am in much, much better shape right now then I was at the beginning of the year)

-Organize and purge junk from shelves in Rachel's room (end of Feb) - DIDN'T DO
-Organize lesson plans in filing cabinet in Rachel's room (end of Feb) - DID HALF OF IT
-Work on workshop (with partner) for conference in Washington State (by June) - DONE
-work on workshop for conference in Connecticut (by June) - DONE
-clean and purge junk from living room (end of March) - DID HALF OF IT
-clean and purge junk from bedroom (end of April) - DIDN'T DO
-organize shoes and put together shoe rack (end of April) - DONE
-purchase new shelves for Rachel's room if needed (end of Jan) - DIDN'T DO
-clean, organize and purge junk from kitchen (end of May) - DIDN'T DO
-Organize and purge junk from extra room) (end of June) - DIDN'T DO
-Paint Rachel's old room (end of July) - DIDN'T DO
-pull wallpaper off of bathroom walls and paint walls and ceiling (end of Sept) - DIDN'T DO
-transport curio cabinet back from Atlanta and organize owls into it (end of Sept) - DONE And moved all owls into it clearing the top of entertainment center which I have plans to replace with a smaller cabinet.
-clean out and purge junk from shed (end of Nov) - DIDN'T DO

Well, that takes care of what I didn't do (for the most part) but what I did do was work on the beginnings of a children science book, catch up on some great fiction, start rearranging cat's bedroom, visit with some great LJ friends, visit long lost family and introduce a new cat to the household. Maybe not a lot got done on the TO DO LIST but there are a ton of great memories to keep and treasure from visiting friends and family and remembering pet lost and new pets found. This year along with getting my weight back where it needs to be after the holidays and all the traveling, I want to finish the cat's bedroom. I don't think I need any new shelves, just to organize the ones I have and rearrange the room so the cat's new play tower is near the sunshine window. I want to paint that room and put up my U.S. map so I can display pins I've collected on my travels. I want to work on two other eye-sores in the house - the junk pile in my bedroom and the junk pile under the kitchen table. If I could get those things done this year I'd be very happy. I don't have to put working on my presentation for this year's conference on the goals list because I know that HAS TO get done.

Good luck to everyone as you think about 2017 and look forward to what 2018 has in store. *hugs*

Thank you. I'm wishing you the same thing.

2017 went so fast and some things were good and some things just got forgotten. I guess I should print out my goals list and post it on the frig or something.

I'm thinking a short list this year and concentrate on one thing until it is done. Christmas decorations and then the cats' bedroom.

I'd say that you got a ton of things done, my friend. Much better than I have done, that's for damned sure!

Good for you, woman! Go, you!

I think my problem with goals is they tend to be too ambitious but then if one sets the bar too long less will probably get done. Definitely planning to finish the cats' bedroom first. Well, after the Christmas decorations come down.

I have high hopes.
