Well, I'm home again. Please don't say, I know I pushed it but there were things that needed doing and I thought I was okay. *sighs*

I'm back to feeling okay again this morning. I guess it was just a warning. I had planned to go to work today. Don't know why and what I would have done.

Thank you. I know some of it I shouldn't have done but others things would have put a strain of yet other things and that would have made relaxing impossible. It's just the way I'm wired. If things are hanging over my head I'm tense. If they are taken care of then I relax.

I know how hard it is to not push things like that, that's why i just didn't say anything :) And you probably really don't want other people at work trying to get into any of the stuff on your desk, if you're like i was when i was an admin assistant/office manager thingy.

I am so feeling your pain. Have been superbly crazy-busy and haven't been able to email you, but that should slow down this afternoon or tomorrow and I'll type ya then.

One of the best things that helped me was to lay down on the floor and put my lower legs up on the seat of the recliner chair. Then stay that way until you jerk yourself awake the first time you fall asleep. Or you get washed on the nose by a cat tongue. *nods* Then you can get up.

I have far too much help when I take a rest break, so I know what you mean when you say you need to work. I'm a workaholic too. Forcing yourself to get in a position where gravity is not working against your surgery is hard, but if you do it frequently during the day, just 10 minute breaks three to four times all spaced out, you'll be able to do far more than if you try to do just one more thing and get over the limit before you feel it.

Your body won't feel it until after the swelling has started, and then it takes far longer to get the swelling out than it took to get it in there.

Next week will be 5 MONTHS for me, and I still can't sit in my computer chair for more than an hour at a time. It always takes far longer than we workaholics want it to, no matter what procedure we had.

Think of your enforced 10 minute anti-gravity positioning as a physical therapy exercise (I'll be your PT and I'm ordering you right now to stop and do this every 2 hours that you're up on your feet!), and then it will be a lot easier to make your brain let you stop. It's not a "rest break" because you're not tired, right? RIGHT! It's an EXERCISE, and your twin sister the PT told you it's MANDATORY.

Don't make me come down there. It would take me 4 days to get to ya, but you know I'd come.... ;-P

I understand the value of that exercise. I did that yesterday in my office. Rachel and I had finished the inventory and I was waiting for hubbie to get to a point in his project so I could pick him up and we could go home. I laid on the floor but couldn't get comfortable so I had Rachel pull a chair over to me and I put my lower legs on it. It helped.

My body wants to rest but my mind is still going and thinks that the whole thing is a waste of time. I must get something done or that's what it keeps telling me.

If you'd like to know, that's a yoga pose called the "corpse pose" - after a few minutes in it, you can definitely understand why! :-D

I'll check that out.

It's difficult to stay home when you're feeling okay... and then you get to work and discover you're only feeling okay when you don't have to do much. :( I hope you recover from your exertions quick, hon. *hugs*

Rest when you need to! Don't force things darling - your body knows best!
