I have a plan, I think

I decided to get proactive this weekend. After leaving work in the middle of the day on Friday with a headache, half asleep, couldn't concentrate feeling and sleeping through the rest of the afternoon and part of the evening I decided I needed to work on some things. I explained to hubbie what was getting me worked up. He didn't realize all the things I needed to get done in the next two months. Knowledge is good. I asked him to try not to yell at the kittens because it gets me tense and I decided to paint the house. The outside that is. The house is in need of repair especially the roof and I think the city has noticed so I'm trying to get ahead of any notices so I can do things in my timetable instead of theirs. I picked out some paint that I thought was peach but looked alot darker on the house so now I have a pumpkin house - well, part of a pumpkin house. That's alright. It is bright and clean and that's what is important. I cut down the flowers and stray baby tree that were growing along the west side of the house so I can start preparing that side to be painted. My daughter asked if she could help which was a surprise and very welcome. Now hopefully the weather will hold up long enough for some painting to get done and I will find the time to work on the two booths that need designing in the next three weeks and a dozen or so vendors will magically appeared before the annual meeting. It's a start.

Thank you for the sweet words, comments and tempting suggestions. They are all appreciated.

Good job! Not easy telling others what they need to do to make life more livable. Would love to see photos of the house when you get done. That darker than it should be thing is how I ended up with a place painted dumpster bright blue.

My daughter kept asking why I didn't get green and I was thinking, "Yuck, that's worse than the slate blue we have now." I don't care is the whole neighborhood has some shade of orange I like it.

I think i saw your other post when you were feeling overwhelmed and meant to leave a comment, but then i got pulled away by something and probably never got back to it. Or maybe i did. I don't remember....

Anyway, glad you talked to your hubby and explained what's going on. People often don't realize how much someone's dealing with or that something they're doing is making it worse. Granted, i was yelling at one of ours this morning, but nobody else was home either ;-)

Nice work on painting... that's one of those things i'll probably never do here! The only places that need painted are almost totally inaccessible on this house.

Like the kitty said, "hang in there, baby!"

I'm hangin'

Got a new hose and nozzle last night to clean the west side of the house but the weather didn't cooperate. At least I have them for when it does.

isn't it awful when the list of things to get done just gets way out of hand? there are a number of things to be done here and i stay on edge until we get it just so. and the house needs to be painted inside and out...do you hire out? ;-)

and i'm glad you talked to your husband about it. it's so easy to forget that they really don't know all of the things you are thinking.

good on you! *hugs*

Hire out? Yeah right. I wish sometimes. Hubbie was asking where all this energy was coming from to do this and I was thinking (not saying)it has to be done. That's not energy, it's determination.

Very good idea to talk to hubby and tell him what all is eating you at the moment. I bet dollars to donuts he had no idea that his yelling at the kitties was upsetting you so much too. It was very smart of you to hold off on the convo until you weren't upset at him too.

The good thing about painting the house and having it come out darker than you thought is that the sun will inevitably fade the paint, and then it'll be just what you wanted! (yes, that's the pollyanna in my looking for the silver lining in every cloud *g*)

I hope the weather behaves for you and that you are able to get the two booths sorted out. *hugs*

Right now the darkness doesn't matter because it clean and bright. I'll wait until more of it is done to form an opinion of it.

I'm so glad you managed to talk to hubby about what was bothering you. It makes such a difference to clear up any unnecessary misunderstandings.

I'm sure the house will look lovely when it's done.
